Hi, I’m Katelyn strand, LISW

I’m a mental health therapist in Ohio with 4 years of experience working with children, teens, and adults who have experienced trauma specific to child abuse and family violence and relationship trauma. The clients I work with are often diagnosed with Depression, Anxiety, PTSD, and Adjustment Disorder. I am trained in several different evidence-based treatment models and use a strengths-based and skills-focused approached to help clients process the events that have happened in the past and build a more hopeful future.

Not sure yet? Schedule a 15 minute phone call consultation. In this call, I will ask you about what you are looking for in therapy and provide information about myself to determine if we could be a good fit. If after the call, we decide this is not a good fit, I can provide recommendations to help you find the right therapist for you.

With a Master’s degree in Social Work and a Bachelor’s degree in Education, I often utilize my passion for teaching with my clients to provide the tools necessary to make changes in their life. My social work background also helps me to understand the many different barriers people often face that might prevent change from happening in their life or increase the severity of mental health struggles. In my therapy sessions, I hope to provide clients with a space to process the challenges that brought them to therapy, learn new skills and strategies to improve their life, and help them feel empowered and confident that they have the ability to make lasting change.
